The Ministry of Electricity and Water was established in 1972 by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan. In 1999 Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan passed a decree to change the governmental Ministry to a semi-governmental authority, naming it “FEWA”, which stands for Federal Electricity and Water Authority.
 
FEWA serves by providing water and electricity to the Northern Emirates only, and has 6 branches located in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al khaimah, Um al Quwain and Fujairah. The head office is located in Dubai, Al Qusais, in Beirut Street.
 
I’m working in FEWA as an Internal Auditor so I have to visit all the branches and check on them. Every month I have tasks to do it and it takes from one week to 3 weeks to finish the Auditing?
 
 
 
Week one and two.
 
Federal Electricity and Water Authority (FEWA) changed the Functional structure of the customer services Department so that I had to audit on them. The period is from 4 to 11 of November which I had to go to Ajman to Audit on customer services Functional structure.
 
Work responsibilities / tasks
 
I had to see the employees, set with them and comparing the work that they do and how is matching with the job description.
I had to stay with each employee around 1 hour to see how he is working , how he is following the process, how he deal with customers and see if is he in the right place or not.
 
Three were 3 sections and around 33 workers I have to finish with them and advise them to work in right way.
 
After the Auditing wrote a report to the head manager of FEWA explaining my point of view and my recommendation. I finished this report on Wednesday in 14 of November and sent it to my supervisor to check it and sent it to the Head manager.

ü  Very happy and satisfied because every time I add some knowledge and experience.
 
 
 
Thing you like / thing you don’t like about the job?
 
I like to meet people and learn from them specially the old staff because they have the experience. But I don’t like to move a lot because I’m studying and I have a child so I feel exhausted, tired and I can’t do my responsibilities toward my college and my life.
